From Lüneburg to Stavanger and Gothenborg 2013

Trip in Ocotber 2013 with a Grumman AA5 to Stavanger and Gothenburg.

Our first fuel stop was in Aalborg Denmark. Although it is a regional airport, everything went very quick. Landing fee was only about 10 Euros. Automatic fuel pump accepts credit cards with PIN. You select the amount of fuel you like to fill in (it's only to check your card limit). Get as much fuel up to your entered limit and you will be billed exactly that amount.

Stavanger Sola is a beautiful airport. Sola has a sand beach (quite seldomly found in Norway). The trip into the city is a long one though. Stavanger itself is beautiful. Lot of things to see. There is an Oil museum that looks like a small oil rig in the harbour.

Lysefjord is a must see. Book a boat trip. Amazing to see the fjord from the inside. Keep in mind to have warm clothing due to the wind on the boat.

Looking into the Lyefjord from above is best done byvisiting the Preikestolen. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preikestolen)

Gothenburg is a very nice Swedish city. If you can, stay at the Barken Viking Hotel. It's on board a retired 4 mast sailing ship (http://barkenviking.com/). Also there is an aeronautical museum close to the airport in an old bunker which has space for a squadron of military fighters (http://www.aeroseum.se/).

Scandinavia is easy to fly. All people have very good English skills and are more than helpful.
